Corrections policy

Accurate wording matters in insurance documentation. We welcome specific reports of factual, sourcing, calculation, accessibility, or technical errors.

How to report a possible error

Use the Contact page and include the page URL, the statement or tool behavior in question, the reason you believe it is inaccurate, and a primary source when available. Do not send policies, certificates, claim files, personal information, or confidential contract documents.

What happens next

  1. The report is compared with the cited and currently applicable source.
  2. If the issue is jurisdiction-specific, the relevant regulator or legal authority is checked.
  3. A confirmed error is corrected as promptly as practical.
  4. A material correction receives a dated note explaining the substance of the change.

Clarifications versus corrections

A clarification improves wording without changing the underlying conclusion. A correction changes a factual statement, calculation, source interpretation, or tool outcome. Typographical fixes that do not affect meaning may be made without a correction note.

Disagreements about a requirement

COI Workbench cannot resolve a dispute between contracting parties or interpret a particular policy. When a question depends on contract enforceability, policy language, or state law, the appropriate licensed or legal professional should make that determination.
